Real Salt Lake arrives in New England directly from Tuesday’s CONCACAF Champions League Semifinal in Costa Rica, where Jason Kreis’ team – the first-ever MLS team to win its CCL group (and only the 3rd non-Mexican side to do so) – achieved another MLS first by advancing to the two-leg Continental Final against Mexican standout Monterrey with its ouster of Central American power Deportivo
Saprissa on a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

Back on March 26, RSL extended its undefeated MLS run to 16 regular season games with a 4-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy in its MLS home opener … MF Javier Morales provided two goals after assisting on Andy Williams 2nd-minute strike … FW Paulo Jr. rounded out the scoring with team’s 4th goal in the 68th minute.

One week earlier, RSL opened its seventh MLS campaign with a gritty 1-0 win on the road at San Jose, MF Kyle Beckerman scoring in the 64th minute and GK Nick Rimando – the reigning MLS Player of the Month – tallying 10 saves for his 75th career clean sheet …
