As of Saturday night, Real Salt Lake still did not have any video of its CONCACAF Champions League opponent at Rio Tinto Stadium this Wednesday — Arabe Unido of Panama.
RSL coach Jason Kreis joked with reporters to help him out and track down some video so his players don’t take the field Wednesday with no knowledge of their opponent.
Kreis said the team couldn’t find any video on You Tube, and one reported jokingly responded if there was a reward. If the team still hasn’t found any video on Arabe Unido by Monday night, Kreis would probably gladly pay a reward to anyone who could help him out.
Arabe Unido has played three games so far in league play and is 2-0-1.
Last Wednesday, prior to resting over half of his starters for RSL’s game at Philadelphia, Kreis sat down and chatted with his players about the upcoming CONCACAF Champions League. He was pleased with what he heard.
“Talking to the guys last week when we made the decision to rest a bunch of them, I talked to them all individually and I was a little bit surprised because I thought it was going to have to be a little bit of a sales job from me to tell them how important this tournamnent is to our club … I thought maybe the players might not be on the exact same page, but as has happened many times my players make me very pleased because they were saying how important it is to them,” said Kreis.
