Kyle Beckerman arrived at the Salt Lake City International Airport today for Real Salt Lake’s flight to Baltimore in a walking boot on his left leg. He said there’s no way he’ll play this week against D.C. United or next week against Los Angeles.
While RSL is back East playing two games against D.C. United, Beckerman said he’ll see one of the preeminent foot and ankle specialists about his injury.
“I’m seeing a pretty big doctor down there on Tuesday. After we see him, then we’ll start to know a little better how long this is going to be,” said Beckerman.
MLS is taking a two-week break from June 9-23 because of the World Cup, which should give Beckerman even more time to recover. However, when asked about the prospects of the injury potentially lingering, Beckerman danced around the topic, which might indicate that the injury is worse than originally thought.
