Movsisyan: I wanna go out on a high

Here is what RSL striker Yura Movsisyan had to say about staying with Real Salt Lake for the remainder of the 2009 season:

ON STAYING WITH RSL:
“I still have my contract here, (which) runs out in January, at the end of December. They couldn’t come to an agreement, so I’m here. I’m here, I’m gonna try to make the playoffs and give everything I have. I’m still gonna play soccer.”

ON WHY HE WOULD’VE PREFERRED TO MOVE NOW:
“Personally, for my family’s sake, I would’ve wanted to go now, just because of all the circumstances with the kid being born at the end of December. But again, I’m happy here. Nothing changes. I signed in Denmark. Sometimes you gotta make decisions for yourself before your family, so I’m happy to be here and to be playing until the end of the year. We’ve got a big task in front of us to try and make the playoffs, so I think it’s a good situation for me, for my teammates, for everybody. I wanna go out on a high.”

ON WHETHER HE COULD MOVE TO DENMARK BEFORE HIS WIFE HAS THE COUPLE’S BABY:
“I think that’s a possibility that I’ll look into. Obviously we’ll just have to talk to Randers and see what they think. They would’ve wanted me there early, I’m pretty sure, to get as much time with the team to get used to it, and then to get my house and everything set up. So I think it’s a possible move that I’ll make — moving there a couple weeks before their midseason break comes up. So I think it’s a possible move.”

ON TRYING TO GUIDE RSL TO THE PLAYOFFS:
“For myself, life moves on and I play soccer. I’m happy here. I’m playing. I can’t complain about anything. I would be complaining if I wasn’t playing, but I’m always up for big challenges and I think making the playoffs is a big challenge for us, and I’m up for it.”
