Thanks to the absurd amount of ties in Major League Soccer, I finally enjoyed an above .500 week in my MLS picks last week. I’m counting on the ties to continue to help aid me with another stellar week of picks.
Colorado at New York
The Rapids are unbeaten this month with a win and two draws, but even though they’re a better team than New York and should win, the Red Bulls are very unpredictable and will probably do enough to keep it close. Draw 1-1.
D.C. United at New England
It’s been a long time since the Revolution won, and it’s been a long time since D.C. United lost. In a league where over 40 percent of the matches are finishing in ties, this East Coast showdown has draw written all over it. Draw 0-0.
Toronto FC at Houston
Dwayne DeRosario makes a visit to his old stomping grounds tonight in what figures to be a very entertaining match. Winners of three of their last four, the edge tonight definitely goes to DeRosario’s old team in a match the Dynamo should win. Houston 2-0.
Columbus at Seattle
The Crew are starting to get things figured out with a 2-0-2 record this month, while the former red-hot Sounders are in a bit of a rut with four-straight ties. The Crew should be plenty motivated against their former coach, and I just don’t see them losing this game. Draw 2-2.
Kansas City at L.A. Galaxy
The Wizards are playing as well as anyone in the league, whereas the Galaxy are perhaps the most average team in the league with eight ties in 10 matches. This Wizards should be able to take care of business this week and continue their run of good form. Kansas City 3-1.
Real Salt Lake at San Jose
With an expected shake-up in the form of some Argentine players, this is finally the week RSL scores a goal on the road. But will it be enough to earn a victory? The players were upbeat enough in training to think so. RSL 2-1.
FC Dallas at Chicago
Fresh off their late-minute gift against Chivas on Thursday, the Fire host one of the league’s worst teams and should have no problem remaining unbeaten with another victory as they should improve to 6-0-6. Chicago 1-0.
Week 2 record: 0-7
Week 3 record: 4-4
Week 4 record: 1-6
Week 5 record: 3-3
Week 6 record: 5-2
Week 7 record: 2-5
Week 8 record: 2-7
Week 9 record: 2-5
Week 10 record: 5-2
Season Record: 24-41
Note: With three options in soccer picks, 33% would be considered average.
