Week 8 picks, Part 1

Last week was definitely a tough week for picks, but even still a 2-5 mark is pretty bad. I’m hoping for a bounce-back week and it begins tonight at Rio Tinto Stadium. Today I’m just picking the midweek games, and later this week I’ll make my weekend picks.

D.C. United at Kansas City
The Wizards are coming off a bye and they’re at home against an average D.C. United team. That should be enough for Kansas City. Wizards 2-1.

L.A. Galaxy at Real Salt Lake
The Galaxy have only lost once, but they haven’t played at Rio Tinto Stadium yet. Until RSL loses at home you and I would both be foolish to pick against the home team. RSL 3-1.

San Jose at New York
Both teams are near the bottom of the standings in their respective conferences, and this is a perfect opportunity for one of them to pick up a victory. That’s exactly why I’m picking a draw. Neither team is good enough to capitalize on a great chance to win. Draw 1-1.

Week 2 record: 0-7
Week 3 record: 4-4
Week 4 record: 1-6
Week 5 record: 3-3
Week 6 record: 5-2
Week 7 record: 2-5

Note: With three options in soccer picks, 33% would be considered average.
