Espindola back, Seitz ready to go

Striker Fabian Espindola went through his first training session with Real Salt Lake on Monday, and looked good enough to coach Jason Kreis that he’ll likely be in consideration for the 18-man game day roster on Wednesday against visiting Los Angeles.

Espindola said he’s thrilled to be back with RSL, especially since he hasn’t received a paycheck from his former club in Venezuela for the past three months.

Kreis confirmed that Chris Seitz will indeed be the starting keeper for Real Salt Lake against the Galaxy, and he’ll likely get the starting nod at Chivas USA on Saturday. His time with the first time will likely last even longer as Nick Rimando is expected to be out two to three weeks with his finger laceration.

Seitz said today that he’s thrilled to be in the starting line-up, and feels as sharp as ever having had three 90-minute performances in the past week. He started for RSL against Seattle in last Tuesday’s U.S. Open Cup qualifier in Seattle. Then, on loan with Portland over the weekend, Seitz played 90 minutes for the Portland Timbers of the USL on both Thursday and Saturday recording a pair of shutouts.
