It’s good thing these picks have been for entertainment purposes only thus far. Last week I only picked one game to finish in a draw, and there were five. It wasn’t all bad though as none of the teams I picked to win actually lost. Here’s to happy for a better showing this weekend
Real Salt Lake at New York
All signs point to another tie or a New York win, but judging by the first month of the season these two teams are on opposite sides of the spectrum. It should lead to a positive outcome for the visitors. RSL 2-1.
Kansas City at Chicago
The Wizards won’t be intimidated playing at Chicago a week after winning at Seattle. Nonetheless, the Fire is simply a better team and should be poised for a bounce-back week defensively after surrendering three goals in the Bay Area. Chicago 2-0.
L.A. Galaxy at San Jose
This game has shootout written all over it. Landon Donovan will be poised for a solid showing against his former club, whereas San Jose looks is a team playing better and better each week. Draw 2-2.
Seattle at Chivas USA
The marquee game of the week lost some of its luster when Kasey Keller was red-carded last week. The Goats should have no problem putting a few balls past Seattle back-up Ben Dragavon. Chivas USA 3-1.
Colorado at Houston
Who would’ve thought Colorado would be five points ahead of Houston in the standings a month into the season. It’s no fluke. Colorado is playing solid soccer whereas Houston appears to be a long way off from finding its form. Draw 2-2.
Toronto FC at FC Dallas
Toronto let a win slip away last week at home against FC Dallas, and that late goal by Dallas should boost their confidence for an even better showing tonight in the second leg of this home-and-home series. Dallas 3-2.
Week 2 record: 0-7
Week 3 record: 4-4
Week 4 record: 1-6
Note: With three options in soccer picks, 33% would be considered average.
