I just landed here in Colorado and it’s a beautiful day for a soccer match. My hotel is actually just across the parking lot from the designated hotel of Real Salt Lake’s fun bus. They’re expected to arrive in a few hours and it will be interesting to see all the fans decked out in RSL gear.
Before RSL headed to Denver on Friday I had a chance to catch up with Jason Kreis and ask him about his team’s mentality. Last time RSL made a visit to Colorado to play the Rapids the club had a chance to move into first place in the Western Conference. It didn’t play well at all losing 2-0.
I asked Kreis if he thought the team was better prepared this time around, and he said most definitely.
“I feel very, very comfortable that this team can handle any situation that’s thrown at them. They’ve shown over the past several weeks and throughout the season, now we’re a team that can play a man up, we’re a team that can play a man down. We’re a team that knows how to play when we’re down a goal and we’re a team that knows how to play when we’re up a goal. I think they’ve shown that they can handle anything that’s thrown at them and they can handle any adversity that’s put in front of them.”
Do you agree, and does that give RSL an edge tonight in the final game of the regular season?
