Despite letting points slip away last weekend in its draw with New York, Real Salt Lake is still in great shape to quality for the MLS playoffs for the first time in team history. It’s quite possible RSL could clinch a spot this weekend if things go well. If RSL beats FC Dallas in its second match at Rio Tinto Stadium this Saturday, and Colorado loses or ties at Chivas USA on Sunday, RSL would officially clinch a playoff spot with one match remaining. That would render Real Salt Lake’s final match of the season at Colorado meaningless as it would already be penciled in as the Western Conference No. 3 seed.
With a loss, RSL could find itself in a ridiculously complicated scenario in the final weekend involving as many five or six teams.
Do you think RSL gets the job done this weekend or not?
