The MLS transfer window opened up on Tuesday, and Real Salt Lake general manager Garth Lagerwey said the team had two offers on the table. Nothing is finalized, however, and may not be until the end of the week.
‘It has less to do with us being cautious and more so us trying to finding the guys we like, making offers, and then hammering out the deal and then getting the immigration stuff done,’ said Lagerwey.
He said it’s similar to the process that slowed the arrival of Jamison Olave and Matias Cordoba in February, but in a much narrower time frame.
RSL has two open roster spots, both of which can be used on international players.
‘If we’re going to make that playoff push, we’ve got to play consistent and play consistently well on the road. And in those hostile environments, guys who’ve been there before have a bit easier time than rookies,’ said Lagerwey.
RSL’s GM said the club is looking at every position but goalkeeper at this time, and seemed to hint that a signing veteran forward was the primary objective.
