Saturday predictions

Like many of you, I’ve got Euro fever. Even though there’s half as many teams as the World Cup, in many ways this tournament is much more thrilling. Unlike the World Cup where there are numerous yawners, in the Euro every group match figures to be exciting. Then there’s the knockout stage, which for my money is as good as it gets in sports. Let the basketball fans have the NBA Finals (yawn), we’ve got the real drama in ESPN every afternoon for the next three weeks.

With that said we can’t forget about our domestic league here in the United States, and there several promising games on tap this weekend.

Saturday Predictions

San Jose (0) at Columbus (3) — The Earthquakes still don’t know how to score goals, and the Crew will be particularly fired up after last week’s 10-men loss at Chivas USA.
D.C. United (0) at Chicago (2) — The Fire continue to perform like the best team in MLS, and they should have no problem beating one of the only two teams in the league that hasn’t won an away match.
Kansas City (2) at Real Salt Lake (3) — Robbie Findley is in great form for RSL right now, and I expect at least another goal from him tonight.
Colorado (1) at L.A. Galaxy (2) — The Galaxy rarely play well without Landon Donovan, who will miss the match because of international duty, but they should still be able to hold off the Rapids and prevail

MLS Sunday Predictions

Toronto (0) at Houston (2) — Toronto is missing Maurice Edu and Amado Guevara, and even with those guys I couldn’t see it pulling off the road win against the revived defending champs.

Record to date: Correct 27, Incorrect 33.
Note: Draws in overall record, therefore picking 33 percent of the games correct would be considered average.

What are your predictions, especially for RSL?
