Good morning from Toronto, eh!
It’s a gorgeous morning here in Canada, perfect for a soccer match and perfect for a home opener for Toronto FC. My flight didn’t get in early enough to catch Friday’s practice at BMO Field, but I caught a Blue Jays game last night along with John Koluder of RSL’s media relations staff and it sounded like everyone worked out great. I anticipate the same starting 11 as last week.
When I get to the stadium in a few hours I post if there’s anything noteworthy going on with the team prior to the match. Remember, today’s match begins at 10:30 a.m. (MDT), and will be broadcast on KSL at 2 p.m.
MLS Saturday Predictions
RSL (2) at Toronto (1) — Greg Vanney doesn’t wear a Xango jersey, so it’s tough to see how Toronto is going to score more than once without Vanney giving goals away left and right.
New England (0) at New York (2) — Round one of this intense rivalry should go to the home team, I mean Juan Pablo Angel.
San Jose (0) at Colorado (3) — Until San Jose proves it can score a goal, the losses will mount.
Houston (1) at L.A. Galaxy (2) — I hate to pick the Galaxy, but I see a highly motivated Galaxy team taking the field after last week’s embarrassing loss against Toronto.
MLS Sunday Predictions
Kansas City (1) at Chicago (1) — The Wizards shouldn’t have a problem getting at least a draw in their first road of the game.
Dallas (2) at Chivas USA (3) — This game figures to be an up and down, entertaining game that will end in a Chivas win.
Record to date: Correct 10, Incorrect 11.
Note: I’m counting draws in my record, therefore picking a draw that results in a winner is considered incorrect.
