Two weeks into the MLS season home teams are an impressive 10-1-3 so far, with the lone home loss coming this past Wednesday with visiting New England spanking Kansas City 3-1.
To truly be competitive in MLS it’s imperative to win the majority of your home games. Chivas USA won the Western Conference last year by losing just one of 15 home games.
If RSL wants to establish itself as a legitimate contender in the Western Conference, today’s game against against D.C. United would seem to be a must-win if not a must-tie situation — especially with two road games looming in the next two weeks.
What do the fans thing? How critical is today’s match for RSL’s prospects in 2008?
Chicago (2) at San Jose (0) — Not even a home opener for the expansion Quakes can them overcome their lack of scoring punch.
Chivas USA (1) at Columbus (1) — The Crew are a much better team at home than on the road, and they’ll find a way to earn a point.
Colorado (1) at New England (2) — If the depleted Revs can put three up at Kansas City, surely they can win at home against the Rapids.
Houston (1) at Kansas City (1) — Wizards will have to settle for a draw in the last of four straight home games to start the season.
New York (0) at FC Dallas (2) — Juan Pablo Angel is out with a hamstring strain, therefore don’t expect a road upset.
D.C. United (1) at Real Salt Lake (1) — RSL’s first win won’t come this weekend with the best team in the Eastern Conference coming to town.
Toronto FC (0) at L.A. Galaxy (3) — Donovan and Beckham should have a field day with this Toronto line-up.

Note: I’m counting draws in my record, therefore picking a draw that results in a winner is considered incorrect.
