Saturday's starting 11 — most likely

Jason Kreis likes to keep his starting line-up a secret. Us media types no longer ask specific questions about it because it’s proven in the past to be a waste of time. With that said, here’s my best guess at Saturday’s starting 11 based on this week’s practices. Eight of the starters against Chicago will be the same against Chivas, except add Robbie Findley, Kenny Deuchar and Dema Kovalenko and take off Yura Movsisyan, Fabian Espindola and Andy Williams.

Without getting into specifics I did ask Jason Kreis after Thursday’s training session about his thought process for picking his starting 11 this season, and he seemed pretty up front with his own personal philosophy.

‘We do want to reward guys for playing well, we do want to try and figure out a way to have some consistency as well, and we want to be able to change tactics for difficult matches,’ he said. ‘All three of things you have to weight everything into every decision.’

If I’m indeed correct on my starting projections, what do our readers think of Kreis’ line-up decisions? Do you like ’em, or is it setting the table for another Home Depot Center disappointment.

The MLS players union released its 2008 salary chart which can be found on The Deseret Morning News will publish a more specific story on these salaries next week with the ’08 debut of our Soccer Wednesday page.
