Busy Monday for Real Salt Lake

The first installment of my annual MLS previews was published in today’s Deseret Morning News. Every year it feels like my predictions are a crap shoot, and I went and looked up my 2007 predictions just to verify. Sure enough I was way off going with Houston, Los Angeles, Real Salt Lake, Colorado, Dallas, Chivas USA. For those who don’t remember, Chivas finished first, so take my 2008 picks with a grain of salt.

Monday is a busy day for Real Salt Lake. Not only do the reserves play a match at Skyline High School against Ogden-based club Lobos FC, but the team is previewing its menu to season ticket holders at the team’s Sandy Stadium site today at Noon. RSL recently signed a contract with Levy Restaurants to be the official restaurant partner at the new stadium.

Real Salt Lake owner Dave Checketts will be in attendance, and I’m hoping to catch up with him about his thoughts on the whirlwind offseason Jason Kreis and Garth Lagerwey have had. If time permits, I’d like to ask him a few questions from our readers, so if you have any insightful questions you’d like to ask Checketts let me know. I’ll update later in the day with some of his responses.
